bella scents

We were approached by a young entrepreneur who was interested in turning her hobby into a career, producing a line of scented candles with the idea of expanding into other areas of beauty products in the future. She wanted to convey a modern, glamorous look to suit the name Bella Scents.

The icon contains several elements. The first shape, initially a flame, contains a silhouette of a woman’s face which symbolises the beautiful scent contained within the candle. The smoke from the top of the flame then spirals away to not only create the shape of a B, but also features another face, the customer, enjoying the beautiful aroma once the candle is lit. As the business may expand to include oils, creams and other beauty products, this flame shape also allows itself to be viewed as a droplet of liquid to suit the product its applied to.

We chose a timeless black and white minimal colour scheme for the main logo, with an alternative version with blends and shadows for alternative uses. The thin stroked font is very modern and doesn’t detract from the icon in the logo, while still having the presence to be noticed. Colours would then be used as highlighting features to indicate the various scent options on packaging.
